The New Year brings in new beginnings for Village Exchange Ghana. All of the VEG projects have moved into a two-story building conveniently located near the Ho Central Market. Perhaps the most exciting part of the new location is the opening of the first-ever Lady Volta retail shop within the building, giving visitors a chance to browse our selection of handmade jewelry, accessories and apparel.

Dzigbordi Afeku, a 37-year old mother of two and recipient of a VEG micro loan. Ms. Afeku is now able to expand her selection at her provisions store in Adaklu Xelekpe and has also graduated to her second loan (approximately $200) after successfully repaying the first one. “We are giving women a chance to develop their businesses. The goal is to one day enable the women to generate enough revenue to financially sustain their business while continuing to grow without the use of external funding” states microfinance Project Officer Seth Ofori. |

LVRC Welcomes Youth To
Open Day |
Puberty, intimacy and relationships: young people face a slew of newchallengesand difficult decisions. With that in mind, the LVRC hosted it's 3rd Open Day, entitled "Mirrors: A Look at Myself," focusing on self-esteem issues amongst adolescents.

LVRC Drama A Big Success!
OnDecember 5th, around 300 people gathered at the YMCA in Ho, Volta Region, to watch the play “You Have A Choice.” Performed by the YMCA Cultural Troupe, with the support of the Lady Volta Resource Centre (LVRC), the performance tackled the theme of teenage pregnancy and featured acting, drumming and dancing.
